This very rare and original 1968 UK release from Doctor Bird Records features The Ethiopians performing on this superb LP entitled Engine 54. This LP is regarded by many who collect this genre as the holy grail, as rare as hens teeth. The vinyl is in very good condition displaying many feint hairline marks that do not affect the sound reproduction nor detract from the listening pleasure. The labels are clean and free from writing with lots of feint spindle marks towards the centre hole , evidence this record has been played and enjoyed many times. However the outer sleeve is only in fair condition with the card material becoming brittle with age, affecting the mouth of the cover and the edges. The spine and top edge had perforated through and the opening had deteriorated to the point were bits of card were breaking off. I have carried out some remedial work on the cover to strenghten and stabilize the card discreetly adding new card to the inside of the sleeve, patching up the front edge as best I could, see enlarged pictures, its a sound enough repair and will prevent further deterioration. Altogether a good example of an extremely hard to come by rock steady classic. Catalogue number DLM5011.
