UNKNOWN GROUP

IF / SHARD AND CLAPPING

2sided ACETATE DUBPLATE

circa late 60s or early 70s

Click HERE and listen to our lo-fi soundclip / mp3 of both sides

Unique and rare 2sided acetate dubplate. A total mystery to us as we have no idea who the artist or group is. Progressive music recorded in Italy with English vocalist and acid rock cum hippie folk influences of the period. Most probably an obscure demo by either a band from the UK or Italian scene. Whatever, this is an infectious slice of rock psychedelia with strange lyrics, especially the If side. Both trax also feature guitar solos to the fade. The If side has haunting garage psych style lead vocals and funky rock drums as the song moves along. The Shard And Clapping song is more melodic and folk rock tinged with hip hop tempo drums galore Great for DJs and a very interesting item for progressive loving compilers if never released. The acetate has a generic Edizioni Chappell Stereomaster label with typed titles. Anyone recognise the songs we have recorded for our soundclip? Possible one-of-a-kind / inedit item. Never seen before

Our record grading: SEALED / M- / VG / VG / VG

RECORD - closer to shiny VG overall regardless of any faint hairlines or faint small light scuffs from storage / disc cut loud with big production sound / light background noises and also a few soft ticks to the intros but to be expected for such an item / some faint old residue from the original pressing process

SLEEVE - not graded - original generic factory sleeve has general wear / item from the archive of an important record label who had offices in Milan, hence the archive sticker with pen notation, front and back

LABEL - archive stickers, pen squiggle and x notations / natural age discoloration / some dirt marks and stains from storage
