Following the success of the first LP by the Basso Valdambrini Quintet from 1959, the producer Walter Gurtler quickly recorded a second set of music in a comparable Californian/Cool Jazz vein. These recordings feature the original Basso-Valdambrini Quintet but with Franco Cerri at the contrabass and Jimmy Pratt on the drums, plus an additional brass section.
