Promotional Copy?
The B side has a sample sticker attached. I know that there are many records for sale, particularly 60s/70s records with these stuck on much later pretending to be original presses. I m certainly no expert on these. The record and sleeve match up in all other regards to standard pressings, other than slight difference in matrix number as explained below. I assume as so few copies would have been pressed, it may have been used as a promo copy. However, id rather sell it as an standard copy with this sample sticker.
One interesting point: In checking the details on my copy including the matrix numbers, I noticed that the last part of the A side matrix finishes with 1 rather than 111 as stated on another well known vinyl selling site. This may indicate an earlier copy pressed for promotion? I don t know but happy to hear from anyone if they know.
Condition:
The vinyl is in strong EX condition. Just a few light crackles at the intros. Plays superbly. The sound quality is fantastic. Retains its shine and I struggled to find any hairlines.
The Labels are in excellent condition. The B side has the sample sticker fully attached as explained above.
The paper picture sleeve is in VG condition. One of the better copies I have seen. No seam splits. There is some wear to the edges/corners and creasing with the most obvious to the top left please see pics . The vinyl has made an impression into the sleeve.
The rear of the sleeve has the remains of a sticker towards the top right side please see pics .
I have owned it for many years and only played it a few times, storing it carefully.
A really lovely copy of this very rare Ramones release.
