This the original 1977 Silver print sleeve Motorhead debut album. Chiswick records - WIK 2.
Matrix codes etched : WIK-2 A-1 / WIK-2 B-1
It is often claimed that only 600 copies of the silver were printed this is not true. 1000 were made, but the manufacturing process was only partially successful because of problems with the glue not adhering to the foiling - so over 400 were destroyed. It was estimated I think by Chiswick Record s Ted Carroll that there are only around 500 still in existence.
Oddly the original silver cover has less misprints on the back than the later white version. ie, no Lensy or Keepers misprints but still has Kilminster and Viborator misprints .
Another silver print copy of this album sold on Discogs 09 March 2020 for over 1800.00.
The last couple on ebay last year have both gone for over 1,000 each Look it up
Condition:
Cover: VG has some ring wear and very light creasing. Spine has small amount of tearing. The silvering is as you would expect after 43 years. See pics for a better idea of condition.
Vinyl: EX looks great - microfiber surface scratches only visible in bright sunlight. Small amount of occasional static can be heard but this can probably be removed with a clean .
Inner sleeve: EX looks new
