Carolina Soul weekly offering: all 900+ album auctions ending on Sunday and Monday come from the collection of the late Rick Sutton of South Carolina. A lifelong musician and collector, Rick worked for two decades as the buyer at an influential record shop in the Carolinas. His collecting interests were varied and deep, with Jazz and Rock being the genres that he gravitated towards the most. Each genre in his collection includes the obscure and underground, the classic and well known, and even the exotic and humorous. As examples, you'll see many by Sun Ra, whom he knew personally, an extensive selection by John Coltrane, and several groupings from artists like Esquivel and Les Baxter. A final note: the condition of nearly all of these is VG+ or better. To browse this week's special selection, click here, and check back with us in the coming weeks as we auction more records from Rick's collection.
