This is an original ED1 UK Stereo pressing in very nice overall condition It has a fully laminated flipback sleeve which has an extremely thin spine. The spine text is on the rear sleeve next to the spine. The top bottom flipbacks have a rounded die-cut area at the centre. There is also a blue border around the text on the rear sleeve. Only the very earliest UK pressings have this blue border. The rear of the sleeve has a printing date on the bottom flipback A.W. 59.3 . This means that the sleeve was printed in March 1959.
It comes with its original polythene-lined generic FFSS Stereophonic company inner sleeve. The record is pressed on thick vinyl has black silver ED1 wide band Decca labels which are grooved also. They have the Original Recordings By.. text on them. It has 1st press ZAL-3521-5E and ZAL-3522-4E matrix numbers.

Sleeve: There is mild or more moderate rubbing wear to the corner tips. There is some mild to more moderate fading to the white of the rear sleeve. There is some light, mild or very mild rubbing wear on the sleeve opening edges on some areas. This is not that noticeable. The spine edge is in Excellent overall condition. There is some light, mild or very mild ringwear on some areas. Overall, Very Good condition.
Vinyl: There are a few light, very mild or very minor sleeve rubs which can hardly be seen under a strong light. The inner sleeve, over time, has left some light, mild or very mild dull surface marks on some areas. These can only be seen under a strong light. They are most noticeable on the dead wax area on both sides. Very Good condition. The labels are in Excellent condition and show minimal spindle wear. The company inner sleeve is in Very Good condition. There is some light, mild or very mild ringwear, fading creasing. There are no seam splits.
I have play tested this LP in its entirety it plays Very Good overall Very Good in some places. There is some light, mild or more moderate crackle in the background to a varying degree. There are some areas of moderate crackle too. These do not last too long. The crackle never completely overpowers the music. The music still shines through Side 2 starts playing much better from about midway through.
Overall, this is a crackly copy of this LP. So please be aware of this when bidding. However, the audio quality of this LP would be vastly improved by a deep down groove clean in a professional record cleaning machine. Visually the disc looks in Very Good to Near Excellent condition. It is very nice clean. Therefore, the crackle is just due to deep down dirt in the grooves. It would, I believe, play Excellent better after a professional clean. It would remove any crackle.
