Here we have a rare as hen s teeth vinyl copy of Lovesexy SIGNED BY PRINCE HIS FULL BAND in August 1988 at the HMV record store on Oxford Street.
Apparently it was very rare that the late Prince signed anything, so this is an opportunity to own a unique piece of vintage Prince memorabilia.
I was on work experience at music magazine Melody Maker that summer and a huge Prince fan. We got a call to the office that Prince was about to do an unannounced signing session at HMV in a matter of minutes, at which point the entire office cleared out in seconds, as we literally ran from Covent Garden to Oxford Street.
The signing session can t have lasted more than 20 minutes, a half hour at most, and then Prince and his band were gone again by the back door.
