Parlophone 45-R 4983 UK 7 1963
This is a UK 1st Pressing Demo 7 Single from 1963.This is incredibly rare It seldom turns up This is your chance to own a little piece of musical history
This record has custom white Demo Parlophone labels which have a large red A on the A-side label. It has a 4 pronged centre. It has the MT tax code embossed around the spindle hole on the B-side. The release date has been stamped on the A-side label see photo . Obviously, this was done at the time at the pressing plant. The record has 1st press 7XCE 17217-1N and 7XCE 17218-1N matrix numbers. These are machine stamped in the dead wax. The mother stampers are MPT2 O and MPT2 GG . These, again, are machine stamped in the dead wax.
This copy comes complete with its original promo pre-release or rush copy EMI company paper sleeve. These were not available to buy in UK shops. They were only used for UK EMI issued Demo 7 singles. This was only in the early to mid 1960 s too. Subsequently, these sleeves are quite rare. It completes the Beatles Demo single very nicely. This sleeve was originally issued with this Demo single back in early 1963. Just to reiterate - this is a genuine original 1963 paper sleeve. It is not a reproduction.
An unbelievably rare The Beatles UK Demo 7 single. Their 2nd UK release back in January 1963. This is the next hardest to find UK 1960 s Demo single after the exceptionally rare Love Me Do UK Demo 7 single. Please Please Me UK Demo copies were pressed in a slightly larger quantity than Love Me Do . However, it was not pressed in as large a quantity as most of their subsequent UK Demo 7 singles. Beatlemania had not quite gripped the UK by the time of the releaseof this single in January 1963.
The previous owner s parent run a record shop in the 1960 s. This is where this demo was originally acquired at the time of release. The recipient, sadly, never realised that this Demo copy would become a highly prized collectors item. Therefore, sadly, this copy has been heavily played back in the day. However, as stated, these hardly ever turn up Quite often the centre of UK Demo singles are missing too. This copy s centre is fully intact. Just to reiterate, this single is a genuine UK Demo pressing from 1963. This is very clearly evident from the pictures and description.
I also have a UK Demo copy of Lady Madonna for sale too. So please see my other items. How many copies of this legendary Please Please Me UK Demo single still exist? It really is so incredibly difficult to find in any condition. This is your chance to own this Beatles item. It is one of their top UK collectibles. Don t miss out
Vinyl: Sadly, as stated, this is a heavily played copy. There are moderate to considerable sleeve rubs, or surface rub marks, which can be seen when viewed under a strong light. There are two long 9 cm surface hairline marks that go across the B-side. There is another slightly smaller 7 cm surface hairline mark on the B-side. This is quite near the other two aforementioned long hairline marks. There are about 8-10 other light, mild or very mild surface hairline marks across both sides of the disc. These measure from 1 cm to 4 cm in length. There are a couple of more moderate surface rub marks on the A-side too. All of these hairline marks are surface marks. There are no deep or nasty scratches at all. Overall, Fair condition. The labels are in Good condition. Tony and T.S. are written on the A-side neatly in pen see photo . A very small Tony has been written neatly on the B-side label too. Otherwise, mild or more moderate spindle wear.
The original Rush Copy Promo EMI company paper sleeve is in Very Good condition. It shows some light, mild or very mild ringwear creasing. There are no seam splits or tears.
I have play tested this single in its entirety it plays Very Good to Very Good overall. There is some light, mild or very mild crackle in the background to a varying degree. This is only really noticeable in the quieter places. It never overpowers the music. The music still shines through There are a very few light or very mild clicks toward the end of the B-side. These are not too noticeable. There are no jumps or sticks on this record. Overall, a very serviceable audio copy.

Royal Mail have very recently increased their postage rates. So I have revised my postage costs to reflect their increases. Please note that these prices include packaging costs too
Double LPs are classed as two LPs. Also posters, inserts, etc.. can increase postage costs. One parcel must not exceed 2kg approximately 4-6 LPS .
All records will be sent in high quality vinyl mailers with at least two card stiffeners either side of the LP or 7 Single. I use a cruciform box for larger orders 3-6 LPs . All parcels will be marked Fragile and dispatch time will generally be between 1-3 days after payment.
I will also remove the vinyl from the sleeve place them in a re-sealable polythene sleeve. In order to prevent seam splits. Depending on the inner sleeve I often remove the vinyl from the inner sleeve place it in a separate plain paper, or polythene-lined, plain inner sleeve. I am very conscientious and careful when packaging your LP s .
I consider my postage packaging costs to be very transparent very fair. Packaging costs will generally be between 0.80 to 1.50. I am not adding any further costs for handling, etc...Remember to check out My Other Items Lots of rare quality vinyl Most are UK 1st Pressings. It is quite likely that there will be more records by this artist, or records in a similar vein.
