Oriental Souvenir - The 40th Anniversary - 1981 This year it was 40 years ago that Jean-Michel Jarre visited the very closed country of China. As the first Western musician he was to perform a series of concerts in Pekin and Shanghai. This calls for a celebration The recordings on this release are from the three Shanghai concerts which, after being edited and partly re-recorded, were used for the live album Concerts In China . This release includes the full Equinoxe 8 track and not only the Band In The Rain section , the full version of Fishing Junks at Sunset and Orient Express including the public playing Jarre s mini keyboard which he presents them while approaching the audience . The book contains an interview with Jarre from 1982, shortly after and mostly about the China Concerts, with amazing pictures from before and during the concerts and is this time the book contains 44 pages
