This is one of the rarest of all Korean rock records. The 1969 debut LP by the legendary Kim Choo Ja, one of Korea s first rock singers in the classic western tradition, though still very much in the K-pop feel of the time. She was a phenomenon, wearing sexy clothes and singing with some American soul inflection. Produced by Shin Jung Hwun, who made all her records have a little bit of that psychedelic sound she became known for. Original copies of her early records are near impossible to find, and this is a very nice one. The disc does have some light marks but it plays beautifully. These Korean pressings are a little noisy even when they are new, but this one plays with only minimal background crackle between some songs. Most original copies are terribly worn but this one is a beautiful player. The flimsy paper cover is in unusually good shape as well, as they are usually all torn up. This one has a bit of wear with a few creases, some fraying on the spine, worn corners, and splits at the center of the top and bottom edge, but still intact and quite stunning. Very rare to find it in this condition, or at all. A very nice original copy.
