For sale is a superb, original first press not a later repress of soul holy grail 45, The Jokes On You/Don t Stop Loving Me on the Arctic label, while label promo, 123. Matrix A-KGA-5, Virtue , and X in the run-out wax on Don t Stop Loving Me side. A-KGA-6, Virtue and liu on Jokes On You side see photos .

A red marker X on Don t Stop Loving Me side and a small stray red marker scribble on same. Labels otherwise very clean with very slight wear. Vinyl rates NM on Don t Stop Loving Me side, VG on The Joke s On You side owing to very light background crackle on the first couple rotations in the beginning. A superb example of this rare 45.

This is one of many high-grade soul 45s I recently acquired from the estate of a DJ who ran a radio station from his basement in Virginia outside of Washington D.C. in the 1960s. This is my second and last of two copies I found in his estate. Please see my other listings for more items from the same estate up this week.

My grading scale:

STILL SEALED : Jacket imperfections, if any, will be described. Vinyl guaranteed to be in unplayed condition.

M : I don t use this grade, on the assumption that no record or jacket is truly flawless.

M- : Vinyl appears unplayed, jacket bears no signs of wear. I rarely, if ever, use this grade.

NM : Like M-, with possible scintilla/whiff of an imperfection

VG : May have a couple very minor imperfections. sleeve scuffs, faint scratches or other superficial marks that have little or no bearing on sound. Jacket may have a couple very minor flaws.

VG : Like VG , but with a few more light imperfections

VG : Several light imperfections, and possibly one or two more serious ones, such as small feelable scratches. Still plays well.

VG- : Will display numerous minor imperfections and/or feelable scratches that affect playback quality. Between you and me, you could do better.
