Dave Corbett Friends - Stoned, Broke Fed Up original UK vinyl LP on Deroy Records DER013 , 1973.
This is one mega rare, very special psych folk LP - in fact, I d say it s almost certainly the rarest LP I ve ever sold in my near 20 years on eBay.
Recorded in 1973, pressed on the Deroy label in minute quantity and issued in a bizarre, oversized and hand-coloured custom-made sleeve.
Contains eleven home-grown songs featuring strong lead and backing vocals atop acoustic and electric guitars alongside piano and harp.
Some songs like the head-weaving Smashed-out Carpet have a prominent eastern, tripped-out psych feel throughout whilst others straddle jug-band and folk areas.
Some tracks stray into 60s Alan Price territory with the emotion-stirring title track clearly a major highlight.
There is a distinct underground feel to this album which grows on the listener with every play.
Recommended for heads into the likes of Synanthesia, Panama Jug Band, Astral Navigations etc.
Excellent glossy vinyl with a few faint scuffs, the audio is superb and plays flawlessly.
The sleeve is VG-, sadly a victim of its unique size with some notable wear and tear to the opening edges and creases elsewhere.
There is also some small faint writing to the top left corner as shown.
However, the record and sleeve are complete with both original inserts, an A4 fold-out printed lyric sheet and a black and white photograph of the band.
This item is extremely rare with only one copy known to have sold on eBay before over 10 years ago, remaining hidden and forsaken until being reissued on CD by Audio Archives in 2010.
