Havenstreet The End of the Line 70s Folk/Rock Band Vinyl LP Ultra Rare Item Overseas buyers: Please see important note below about possible customs charges in your country, due to high value of item This album is a rarity produced in 1977 by the almost unknown 70s folk/rock band, Havenstreet.
This copy is a particularly valuable item to own as it is in absolutely mint condition.
Interestingly the album had been distributed under its own label Rissole Records some years before punk did the same.
All the tracks are original material, written by mainly three of the band members: Jeff Vinter, Phil Ridgway Francis Bassett.
The music has been described as being influenced by artists as diverse as Caravan to Peter Hammill Van Der Graaf Generator and has a line up including keyboards, saxophone, flute and violin as well as acoustic guitar, bass and percussion.
Using this instrumentation, the band creates a sound that sits between contemporary folk and, at times, dreamlike, thoughtful progressive rock with literate, poetic lyrics.
Mutant Sounds describes the LP as an: Absolutely stunning privately released acid folk LP from the UK.
Extremely rare and almost unknown Great floating flute/guitar acid folk tunes with some jazzy hints here and there.
An unknown masterpiece Popsike says: Rarest and best UK private pressing - only a couple have ever turned up It was recorded in 1976 and released in early 77.
Only a few copies were pressed up as the band ran out of money.
