ORIGINAL WEST COAST PRESSING OF 1967 VELVET UNDERGROUND NICO LP WITH EMERSON TORSO OBSCURED BY BLACK STICKER ON BACK.
DEAD WAX V 5008 S-1 MG 558 REV.
LP is in Near Mint Condition.
Banana is intact except for a slight tear towards the top. Very little ring wear.
There s some splitting along the top of the cover.
It s the best copy I have ever seen.
Cover is very clean, no writing or tears, just a hole punch in the left hand side.
The black sticker is exactly that, not printed on as seen in later pressings.
There a few very faint lines on Side B that do not affect playback. Aside from that it looks like it just came out of a sealed lp.
I ran out of space for photos but please feel free to write to me and ask for some more. This record is actually different sounding than the east coast pressing. First, the overall record is louder in general. Second, the volume of Venus in Furs jumps up around a minute in, and I ll Be Your Mirror contains distortion and crackling. I have read that other original west coast pressings have the same mastering issues. Anyway, the album plays beautifully throughout.
