Item Description
An impossibly rare Tetragrammaton test pressing of Elyse Weinberg s unreleased until recently second album, Greasepaint Smile.
This album, featuring guest performances by Neil Young and Nils Lofgren on guitar, was planned for release in 1969, but the label went out of business just beforehand and this album became a legend.
The reissue label Numero finally issued it in 2015, but make no mistake, this is an original 1969 test pressing.
The disc is in VG- condition with numerous scuffs and some feelable marks, but plays through without any skips or jumps.
There is surface noise in the quiet parts and between songs, some ticks, but it s still very listenable.
The typed labels from Harmony Recorders in Hollywood are reversed, so the side labeled Side 1 actually plays Side 2.
The matrix numbers are T-128-1 / S2228 and T-128-2 / S2229.
This may be your only opportunity to obtain this ultra rarity.
We grade all records visually, cover first, then disc using the abbreviations M / NM / EX / VG with and -.
We try to describe everything as accurately as possible, and spot check any vinyl flaw that looks like it might make a sound.
We regularly receive praise for our grading, but as all grading is subjective, we are happy to give a full refund for anything you aren t happy with no questions asked.
Unlike some eBay sellers, we don t feel the need to hype records by including long reviews or albums, quoting lyrics, making up arcane variations.
We just grade accurately, describe any flaw, and sell only high quality rare records in fine condition.
