Although we rarely offer anything other than professional peels, we recently got this in trade from a regular customer. While there is some commonly seen amateur peeling issues various scrapes and touch ups etc , this would still look great in a frame and won t cause you to skip your mortgage to purchase. Most LA designated 2nd state trunk covers were adhered for Capitol Records by the Modern Album Company during the paste over process with a difficult to remove adhesive. For every nice one that exists, there are probably a thousand bad to mediocre peels. Most of the severely damaged 3rd state covers you see on the internet for sale are improperly peeled LA Jackets. Look around and compare. Perhaps not for the super picky collector, but that special someone who wants a rarer and harder to peel LA Butcher Cover. Condition:
Front of Jacket:
Front Peeled Butcher Slick shows some scars, damage from the peel, paper residue from the trunk slick removal, most noticeable near John Lennon s knees and also some various areas on the others pant legs and the mouth edge, but other than that, not too bad. Certainly NOT a candidate for the peeled Butcher Hall Of Shame . There appears to be touch ups to the scarred areas but again, not the worst we ve seen.

Seams:
Top seam appear to be complete with no issue. It should be noted that this jacket is somewhat unusual as the Butcher Slick was adhered too high on the jacket, and as a result, partially obscuring the file under and the catalog number on the top white border. Although unusual, these Capitol factory alignment issues are not unheard of as many of the trunk covers were adhered slightly off center exposing the butcher cover slightly on the left side of the jacket.
Bottom seam appears mostly complete with approximately an inch of balding near the end of the seam see seam photos . To protect what remains of the seams, a record should never be attempted to be forced into this jacket.
Spine:
Spine is mostly intact with most writing legible. There is a 1 1/2 split in the very middle of the spine. See Spine photos .
Back Of Jacket:
The back of the jacket shows light wear/tanning with what looks like paint covering a name or tape stains. Sorry but there is NO CAPITOL INNER SLEEVE included in this auction. see photo of back of jacket .
Trunk Slick:

Record/Inner Sleeve:
Comes complete with West Coast mono pressing in Good visual condition lots of light scratches but nothing too deep . Has not been play graded. VG Labels.
