EUs ARSE : 3 Track Cassette / Brilliant Raw Hardcore Punk Band from Italy.
It was sent to me by Giacomini Luca who i presume worked with the band or was a good friend of theirs from Udine at the time and who i communicated with back in the day after the first split ep came out in 1982 and before the 2nd ep which came out in 1983 . I think recorded in 1982 but possibly 1983 , as there is no date anywhere.
NB: - I can only find 1 of these tracks Corruzione Statale on any of their releases.
- The secods EP had a Title - Questa E La Loro Speculazione Di Morte
- but no track called Speculazione Di Morte
- also i cannot find the track Omerta on anything.
Does anyone have any information on those 2 songs ?
The 3 Tracks are on Side B the rest of side B has no further recordings.
Side A : A quarter of the way in some bands recording kicks in. Sounds like an American HC Punk Band / its a Studio recording 5 tracks 1st of which cuts in at the end then 4 full tracks but i cant think who they are ? one of the lyrics says Why dont you fight for them, get your head blown right off, why dont you fight for them Be a Soldier, rpt. Be a soldier . Sounds like The Fartz ?
Tracks :
1. OMERTA
2. CORRUZIONE STATALE
3. SPECULAZIONE DI MORTE
Translations :
1. Solidarity Among Criminals
2. Corruption of the State
3. Speculation of Death
Hand written cover ie. The Inlay J-Card with 1 Hand written label and Hand written letter.
Plays Fine / sounds like a mono live rehersal studio or practice recording. I m not sure if the 3 tracks were recorded specially for this submission tape or not ? Ive never seen another one. Interested to know if anyone else has this ? Slight muffle on the intro and 2 Tenth 1/10th of a second mini drop outs on track 1. I recomend recording it and running it thru Logic Audio EQ or other. The classic Eus Arse raw overload sound and the usual amazing trademark screaming vocals on top.
NB:
Just to say that home made / home produced tapes, are of course not as
good quality as vinyl releases and the sound also depends on what you
play them on. I personally like to offload them and then mix them thru
an EQ to play them, and not play the tapes themselves all the time as
they have always been the most fragile of any format since they first
introduced to the larger market in the 70 s althought the first
cassette tapes were invented in the mid 60s
Original tape that was sent to Xcentric Noise. There will be an Xcentric Noise book at some point , covering the label, early diy, early world punk explosion and tape culture with a final free compilation CD.
I sadly have to clear out of London and sell my stuff to help my move
