A well preserved copy of the very first issue of the first album. All 1st issue points in place with the stamped matrix codes which are both UNCORRECTED later issues show one of the 8 s crossed out and re-etched , the original withdrawn sleeve with turquoise band name and Atlantic logo and the misprinted credits on the labels with track 3 on side one credited to both Superhype AND Jewel music and no credit for track 2. Interesting to note that this is often called version 2 of the two turquoise versions, though it is generally accepted - and would make sense - that the copy with this error came before the copy without. A sought after record.
VINYL:
I have listened to this a few times and it plays beautifully. A hint of background noise between some tracks is evident but the music rings out clear and true all the way through. There are five light ticks during Your Time is Gonna Come with a bit of background noise audible during the quiet intro to the same track, but other than that it is a very sound copy with fantastic audio throughout. Visually the labels are clean and bright with evidence of moderate play and a neat previous owner sticker on Side One. There are light marks visible under light on the playing surfaces but consummate with the moderate usage of a 55 year old record. I will grade it as Very Good . There won t be any nasty surprises here, this is a strong copy of a rare record.
SLEEVE:
Very Good. The photos give a good representation of this sleeve. There is some laminate lifting and darkening from light exposure in areas along the spine - which is fully readable - with a little crushing at the bottom edge. The sleeve is firmly intact and retains a nice vibrancy across the front and back panels. Please ask if you d like to see further photos.
