SLEEVE RECORD GRADINGS
MINT:The record itself is in brand new pristine condition without any surface marks visible or any deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the inner sleeve, lyric sheet, booklet or poster etc are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.EXCELLENT:The record shows some signs of having been played, with some very light surface marks, light fine hairlines and indicates that it has been well cared for - but there will be very minor lessening in sound quality with very occasional/minimal low level background noise. The cover and packaging/inserts etc might have very light age related storage wear - mostly near the edges and / or very light creasing, plus/or very light ring wear.VERY GOOD :The vinyl will have light surface marks/very light scratches - there should be no skips or jumps, but it is possible there will be periodic background low level surface noise/clicks etc. There should not be any distortion whilst the vinyl is played and the listening experience should not be drowned out by loud pops crackles etc.Sleeve with general storage wear - some light distinct creases light wear around the edges, record ring wear, possibly a split seam and the sleeve may be unstuck. No writing on sleeve, tears or any deface-ments.VERY GOOD:The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the some light scratches, but it is possible that there will be regular background noise, but no skips or jumps.Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, as per VG without any major defects, will also include scuff marks, light indentations, light foxing plus the cover might have come unstuck. No sleeve tears or any defacements.GOOD:A record in Good or Good Plus condition can be played through without skipping. But it will have constant/regular background surface noise, light scratches, and visible groove wear, possibly causing disturbances to the listening experience.
A cover or sleeve will have more distinctive defects, such seam splits, especially at the bottom or on the spine, tape, tape residue, writing, more pronounced record ring wear, extreme wear on the edges, more noticeable/deep creases, and other defects might be present, as well as the above. It may not be possible to read the text on the spine. There might be some damage/wear to the artwork
