John Lennon - Imagine
Apple Records PAS 10004 UK LP 1971
This is a 1971 UK 1st pressing LP in great overall condition This is the very earliest UK pressing which has a mispressed rear sleeve. The rear sleeve has John s head in the wrong position. The back of John s head should be at the bottom of the rear sleeve. With his face facing upward toward the top edge. Instead, the back of John s head is along the sleeve opening edge. His face is facing the spine. The text, which should be along the bottom of the rear sleeve, is now on its side, and at the sleeve opening edge. How many sleeve were pressed with this error is uncertain. It certainly doesn t turn up very often
This LP has a heavyweight fully laminated sleeve. The sleeve has a factory pinched top bottom spine see photos . As stated, the rear sleeve is mispressed. Only the very earliest UK pressings came with this sleeve error. This LP comes complete with its original Giant Fold-out Poster. This is printed on quality paper. It also comes complete with its original Postcard of John holding a pig.
It has a custom Lyric/ Picture/ Information Inner Sleeve. This is printed on papar. There is a flipback along both side edges on one side of the inner sleeve only. The record is pressed on thick vinyl. Side 1 has a custom John Lennon head Apple label. Side 2 has a generic Apple label. The matrix numbers mother stampers are machine stamped in the dead wax. They are:
Side 1: YEX 865-1U GPO 5
Side 2: YEX 866-1U GLP 2
PORKY and PECKO are machine etched in the dead wax on Side 1 and Side 2 respectively.
This is a genuine UK 1sr pressing of this classic early 1970 s Rock LP. This is the very earliest UK pressing came with a mispressed rear sleeve. The sleeve has a factory pinched top and bottom spine too. It comes complete with its original lyric inner sleeve, poster and postcard. The record has the earliest -1U/ -1U matrix stampers too. It also has the Porky and Pecko etchings in the dead wax. This UK copy is the rarest variation of UK 1st pressings. The mispressed sleeve variation is still relatively unknown about. Therefore, I m sure, that prices for this variation will only increase in the future.

The original inner sleeve, over time, has left some light, very mild or very minor dull surface marks on some areas. These, again, can barely be seen under a strong light. EXCELLENT condition. The labels are in Near Mint condition and show next to no spindle wear.
I have play tested this LP in its entirety it plays Very Good to Near Excellent overall, Excellent in many places. There is some light, mild, very mild or very minor crackle in some quieter places. This is mainly on the 1st track Imagine on Side 1. There are about 4 light or very mild clicks on the track Oh My Love on Side 2. Overall, a very decent audio copy
The original Lyric/ Picture/ Information Inner Sleeve is in Very Good condition. There is some light, mild or very mild ringwear, fading creasing. There are no seam splits.
The original Giant Fold-out Poster is in Very Near Excellent condition. It has never been used as a poster and put on the wall. There are no pin holes or tape stains. There are no rips or tears, There are a couple of small feint stains see photos . These are on the rear sleeve - at a fold. However, it has gone through the paper slightly. It is much less visible on the front. There is some light or very minor fading, to a varying degree, on a few areas. There are some rippling, or creasing, marks, here there, which come from originally being folded in the factory.
The Postcard is in Excellent condition and shows next to no wear.
I shall place the LP into a separate plain paper inner sleeve. This will protect the original inner sleeve from any damage during the shipping process.

Double LPs are classed as two LPs. Also gatefold sleeves, posters, inserts, etc.. can increase postage costs.
Please note that there are now VAT import charges from the UK into all EU countries. Anything under 150 Euros will need an IOSS number. VAT is paid at point of sale. For any items over 150 Euros in value. There will be a customs charge too. These vary, I believe, from country to country. Please check your relevant postal service online for details. Please note that these charges are beyond my control and are the law for outside parcels going into the EU.
All records will be sent in high quality vinyl box/ mailers with at least two card stiffeners either side of the LP or 7 Single. I use a cruciform box for larger orders 3-6 LPs . All parcels will be marked Fragile and dispatch time will generally be between 1-3 days after payment.
I will also remove the vinyl from the sleeve place them in a re-sealable polythene sleeve. In order to prevent seam splits. Depending on the inner sleeve I often remove the vinyl from the inner sleeve place it in a separate plain paper, or polythene-lined, plain inner sleeve. I am very conscientious and careful when packaging your LP s .
I consider my postage packaging costs to be very transparent very fair. Packaging costs will generally be between 0.80 to 1.50. I am not adding any further costs for handling, etc...
