Mint M :
Sleeve: The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition.
Record: Is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality.
Near Mint NM :
Sleeve: Will only show very minor signs of storage/handling wear. It may have slight corner bumps/rub, ring wear and maybe very minor creasing. It will have no rips or splits.
Record: We be in a new like condition. Very Clean. It may have very, very minor defects such as no more than a couple of very light wispy hairlines and a couple of spindle trails around the centre holes. Basically a record in NM condition will look like you have just got it back from the record shop or at worse only had a couple of plays.
Excellent EX :
Sleeve: As NM but the signs of wear will become a little more pronounced. There may be signs of stress at the seams maybe the beginnings of a split. It may have a cut out hole indicating that it was taken out of print. There may be a little graffiti on the sleeve or label.
Record: Will show signs of play but has been well looked after by the previous owner. It may show a few more light marks/scuffs than a NM. These marks won t be deep enough to be felt. There may be the odd click or crackle upon playback. Slight warps are that don t effect the sound are OK.
Very Good VG :
Sleeve: A VG sleeve will have many of the defects found in a EX but more pronounced. Seam splits may be more obvious or may be taped or show residue. There may be small rips. It may show some age/handling discolouration. Laminate may be bubbled, may be marred with writing.
Record: Wear and defects will be more obvious with marks/scuffs deep enough to feel with a fingernail. Groove wear will be more noticeable. Sound deterioration and surface noise will become more likely especially during quieter passages.
