Item Description

For auction is the rare RED label I Favolosi Beatles on the Italian Parlphon Label.
Issued in 1964 laminated flipback picture sleeve.
XEX 447-1 XEX 448-2 Sixties Italian albums appear to be almost equally scarce and are often found in less than Good condition.
Beatles albums are no exception to this rule, covers are often torn, records badly scratched and labels barely legible, yet their scarcity and differences make them highly sought after among collectors.
Between 1963 and early 1965 Beatles albums were issued in mono only on a red Parlophon label, these are some of the rarest Beatles items to find in any condition In mid 1965 Parlophone issued Beatles albums on a silver and black label, again the logo read Parlophon without the e .
This lasted until 1968 when all albums were reissued in Stereo and the labels changed to Parlophone with the e .
The condition of Italian records generally is less than those from the UK, US or other European Countries, but collectors are usually prepared to accept inferior quality items due to the scarcity of these unique Italian LPs, however the condition of this album is in highly respectable near mint condition and the lucky buyer will not be disappointed The labels are deep red finish with bright silver Parlophon logo and tracklisting also in silver.
There are very few light marks around the spindlehole on both sides, signifying minimal play, and certainly not excessive.
The Matrix Numbers are machine stamped, they are as follows:- Side One XEX 447 1 Side Two XEX 448 2 The date 4 2 64 has also been machine stamped into the dead vinyl.
This was the date of this 1st red label issue.
Red label Italian original LP s have been compared in scarcity to UK black and gold Parlophone labels in that they are almost never found in anything but poor condition.
They were available in MONO only.
The vinyl has a few very light surface marks, but having played it through for grading purposes it was staggering to hear the track breaks were almost perfectly silent.
There is a sheen to the vinyl that is only present with sixties pressings, and the deep grooves make the light surface marks completely inaudible.
The sleeve is unique to Italy and is fully laminated with flipbacks and Italian text on the back.
This sleeve has survived the last 40 years with no major defects.
All edges including the pinched spine are unworn and the laminated rear of the sleeve is white with minimal age yellowing at the sleeve opening.
