Now that s more like it After the awkward and underwhelming Survival, E Pluribus Funk is just what the doctor ordered, a steaming bowl of sweaty hard rock stew. Sweaty stew, mmmmm. The original LP packaging presented the LP as a giant silver coin, adding to the sense of splendor.
It doesn t have a bad track on it. Brewer and Schacher never sucked, but Farner has improved tremendously in his contributions, laying down hot, exciting keyboards on Footstomping Music, and generally wailing his little heart out. What makes the record even more impressive is that GFR haven t abandoned the more serious lyrical concerns of Survival, they ve just paired them with stronger music. People Let s Stop The War is an excellent, intense Vietnam protest song that Edwin Starr would approve of, with fantastic instrumentation and a soulful growl I didn t think Farner was even capable of. It s hard to believe sounds as big as the mighty, exhilarating, unstoppable, I Come Tumbling are being made by only three people. Yet it s not all full steam ahead - the band cool off for the final eight minute track Loneliness, a slower, introspective number that eventually breaks into fury with an actual symphonic accompaniment - epic.
uper underrated, this is a hard rock classic which I want to put right back on as soon as it finishes. One of their best.

Our favorite Grand Funk album, this one does not have many memorable chart hits, but is a high-quality attempt to put some Soul and...er, Funk in Grand Funk. The album features what we believe is the finest ballad the band ever attempted: the majestic Loneliness . And then, there s that classic coin-shaped cover . Track listing: Footstompin Music - People, Let s Stop The War - Upsetter - I Come Tumblin - Save The Land - No Lies - Loneliness The original textured cover intended to resemble a silver coin is ALMOST PERFECT the nicest copy of this highly sensitive and frail cover we have encountered. no wrinkles, no split seams, no cutout holes or cutout or, for that matter, ANY corners, no drill marks, no ring wear, or writing - absolute visual perfection .On top of it, all three hinges of the circular cover top, bottom, spine are structurally intact, which is practically unheard of for this cover. The record comes with its original circular-shaped insert
