Over the next few weeks and months I will be listing a quite lovely collection of Pink Floyd albums.
These will all be at least decent playing copies, but mostly will be of excellent quality, some even better than that. They will include some UK 1st pressings, and if not they will be extremely early pressings. All matrix/mother/stamper combinations will be listed so long as they are readable so you can tell exactly what you are bidding on. All gradings are by visual examination and by play-grading, strictly to record collector guidelines.
So here we have some of Floyds earliest released titles, spanning the period from 1969 to 1971.
RELICS.
UMMAGUMMA.
ATOM HEART MOTHER.
MEDDLE.
This is a collection of tested and untested material but will be described in detail below.
RELICS:-
Matrices are A1 and B2, so a nice first UK pressing. Untested, but the vinyl surfaces are visually excellent. This should play well. The cover is in a nice clean condition considering its light colour. Only has very light signs of wear. Grades VG . The generic white inner is discoloured from age and displays Made in Great Britain and patent number text. Slight wrinkling. Grades VG . Nice all round early copy.
UMMAGUMMA:-
Matrices are A1 B2 A1 B2, so another UK first pressing. Has the GAND mis-spelling. Untested. The vinyl surfaces have a few light wispy marks and a couple of light non-feelable scratches. Side 4 has a small mark on the 2nd track which may sound? This will probably play with a little surface noise although marks can only be seen in angled sunlight. The cover has some laminate creasing, but is quite tidy overall. Good and solid and grades VG. The generic white poly-lined inner sleeves are in decent order, but are quite creased. Grade VG. Looks a decent all round copy.
ATOM HEART MOTHER:-
Matrices are A-1G and B-1G, so a UK 1st pressing. Plays with some surface noise which can be heard in the many quiet sections. Still a detailed listen and audio grading to record collector guidelines is VG. The vinyl visually looks much much better than it sounds, so this may well improve greatly with a proper clean. Cover is a little grubby in parts and has shelf-wear to edges and spine. Grades VG. The inner sleeve advertises other albums of the same era. Very clean, grades VG .
MEDDLE:-
Matrices are A4 and B3. Still a genuine UK first pressing, but a later issue. Has the Gramophone Co Ltd rim text. This is a very nice all round copy. The vinyl surfaces are really clean with no marks worth noting. Visually grades as Ex. The cover is a lovely example. Virtually no shelf-wear at all with nice clean spine. Textured outside only. Extremely solid and clean. Grades Ex. Inner sleeve is generic white with made in Great Britain and patent number text. Mildly discoloured with short slit to one edge. Grades VG. Overall a really nice copy.
So Pink Floyd in their formative years. The late 60 s and early 70 s was really the start of super stardom, and this is a nice collection of early material. The good thing is that all 4 are genuine first UK pressings too.
A nice starter collection with a couple of quality albums in there too.
All albums will be housed in a brand new heavy duty polythene cover. All vinyl s will be housed in a new anti-static inner sleeve. I pack my albums for transit in the most secure packaging imaginable and send 1st class signed for postage with The Royal Mail. I only charge exactly what it costs me, sometimes less
I accept returns if I am notified as soon as possible after you receive the album. This has to be due to it being wrongly described. Not just for a change of mind. I take the time to provide quality photographs of the album, along with a detailed description, so please respect this.
I will post overseas, but not to Russia, Belarus or Ukraine. Postage within the EU is around 17. Worldwide postage is around 27. If these prices differ once I have packed and weighed them, I will refund the difference immediately. If it costs any more, I will stand the extra cost myself. Win win
If you have any questions, or require more photos, just let me know.
Many excellent Floyd titles still to be listed over 140 , so please keep an eye out for my future sales or add me as a favourite seller to get notifications of listing.
Good luck if you decide to bid.
