ONEIDA WATERFALL PRIVATE PRESS LP
As it turns out, there s truly no end to the diamonds in the rough peeking their heads out through the decades.
I saved this from a certain demise at a thrift shop, just as you see it, no outer sleeve, just the vinyl in an inner sleeve .
This has no place being this good for an unknown album. Myself, and a cohort have done EXTENSIVE research trying to figure out the details on this band release.
I ve come up with nothing, nada, zilch....and absolutely no indication of its existence outside of this copy.
I m not going to go too deep in analyzing the music, take a listen for yourself. The whole album is up on YouTube, and obviously the copy up for sale. Just search Oneida Waterfall .
It sounds to me like it s from the late 1960s/early 1970s.
One of the most impressive parts is the territory they cover, giving space and mood a chance to breathe. It sounds to me like three of the tracks are live , and one was made with a multi-track. If you listen to the VERY beginning of Waterfall , one can actually hear the tape uptake with just a millisecond of flub, only adding to the magic of the document.
It s also on, what feels to me, 130 gram vinyl.
Vinyl::::EX take a listen for yourself, some occasional pops, but certainly nothing serious. There s some light spindle wear and general shuffle to the labels, but they re still very much legible, and in great shape.
Track listing:::::
Waterfall 8:21
Travelin 5:42
Changed 8:56
Midnight Blue 4:50
