The Beatles Please Please Me Gold Stereo LP. PCS 3042
Original 1963 rarer corrected corrected Northern Songs version with mother stampers 1G / 1R and YEX 94-1 / YEX 95-1 matrices .
This is the newly discovered 2nd press - type 2 version with the extended 3rd line on side 2 and first shown on my website beatlebay uk.
This special side 2 label shows the transition to the 3rd pressing on the Yellow/Black Parlophone Labels with and without the little 33 1/3 .
A very collectable Lp and I bet a lot of you collectors do not have this
It is not mint but looks a decent VG with a lovely shine and playing through a Shure M44-7 diamond stylus or the tonar 267 which uses the standard 0.7mm conical stylus needle also the same they used in the 60 s , it plays fine though there are some light scratches on side 1 which cause light clicks through Anna,Chains and the beginning of Boys. Approx.Grade would be VG- / VG because of this so please be aware that is may skip on your deck if playing with a finer needle. There is also a name written in black felt on the side 1 label I hadn t spotted until now.
First issue sleeve again around VG-/G as nothing missing but the bottom flap has some staining and has come unglued or neatly torn but could be repaired quite easily and is at least very presentable from the front.
This is my only double of this edition catch it while you can
