Incredible music exclusive to this LP From murkyrecess.blogspot.com: Tribo Mass hi is a perfect example of how user-generated content online is overturning how we create cultural canons.
This obscure gem has been posted on a great many blogs over the last several years.
Though seemingly much loved, details about the album or its creators still remain unknown.
La Colmena de Humo seems to have pulled together a few facts.
Apparently the lead songwriter known as Embaixador Ambassador appeared in at least one film in Brazil, playing a gangster in the James Bonds-like musical Roberto Carlos em Ritmo de Aventura 1968 , and is reported to have died in the 90s.
I am assuming he recorded the single first, a more conservative affair as evidenced by the tamer version of Fareu on the B-side, before making an ensemble album, Estrelando Embaixador, under the collective name Tribo Mass hi.
The production quality and experimentation on the Tribo Mass hi recording is an exponential leap forward from the the 45.
Estrelando Embaixador is candombl -inspired psychedelic party music, taking the Afro-Brazlian sound into some wild territory.
It s a heady mix of tropicalismo, chimed guitar, conversational chatter, studio fuckery, and heavy percussion with a female chorus.
The songs blend together so that each side of the record runs as a continual piece.
Side A is called Timol , Timod Side B Lido s Square.
Here s a beautiful collectors copy.
Check the soundclips of actual item for sale: Listen to A-side clip Listen to B-side clip Cover: VG , laminated cover in excellent shape, autographed on front cover, some lamination wear, some light corner and edge wear, a few very small tears on spine and near the mouth, no seam splitting, seams are intact and in excellent shape, slight storage fading across top back, labels excellent with promo radio signature one one side and with the date of release on the other see pic Vinyl: VG , plays excellent up to near mint, strong sound, it was probably only played a handful of times, I played it only a couple times, once to records the soundclips, it has a beautiful sheen with only some light visual scuff marks that don t affect play, due to these marks it gets a visual downgrade to VG , and overall grade of VG , the grooves are rather small due to the fact that each side is one track with no run in to the next track, there are no skips - Please note, there are light occasional pocks, and it definitely needs a professional cleaning machine to get the dirt deep in the grooves as it probably hasn t been cleaned before listen to soundclip Only Paypal accepted.
