Neil Young Time Fades Away Cd Unreleased Promo Cd

This is the never released TIME FADES AWAY CD.
Only 25 of these are known to exist.
This was supposed to be released in 1995 as part of the missing six titles - Journey through the Past, Time Fades Away, On the Beach, American Stars Bars, Hawks Doves and Reactor - but at the last minute Neil Young decided to cancel their releases.
Eventually in the mid 2000s, Young allowed four of the six but Journey and Time still remained unreleased.
But there were a handful of both CDs manufactured by Warners and this is one of those unreleased CD packages.
They are extremely rare and this is the packaging for one of them.
The original proposed silver CD was pressed in the HDCD format to ensure the highest possible quality.
The enclosed promo CD is a digital copy and the accompanying cover art is the original packaging that was to come with the withdrawn CD.
It duplicated the original lp art adding additional photos that were not originally found with the lp.
The quality of the live recording is absolutely stunning, but the performances themselves are ragged, out of tune, raw and probably the most abrasive music Neil Young ever released.
Which may be one reason why Young has since vowed never to release this album on CD.
So here is your chance to own the CD as it was originally planned and almost released in 1995, complete with its own bar code.
For Neil Young collectors, this is the Holy Grail.
