‘Behind The Wheel / Route 66’ is a cover of the popular standard
‘(Get Your Kicks On) Route 66’, written by [a=Bobby Troup].

Technically, the release appears among these five various steps :

- [url=https://www.discogs.com/Depeche-Mode-Behind-The-Wheel-Route-66-Megamix/release/1109467]Second[/url], a misprint release, pressed by SRC (with the same both sides runouts of this one).
- [url=https://www.discogs.com/release/11955071]Third[/url], this one, to correct the misprint, still pressed by [url=https://www.discogs.com/release/11955071#images/34107692]SRC[/url], using the same matrix (same runouts).
- [url=https://www.discogs.com/Depeche-Mode-Behind-The-Wheel/release/9407076]Fourth[/url], a white label, from a new second matrix, as stated by the
additionals etchings on B side’s runout (this time pressed by Allied).
- [url=https://www.discogs.com/Depeche-Mode-Behind-The-Wheel-Route-66-Megamix/release/67246]Fifth[/url], the final release of the previous white label, duplicated wider
by Allied (with the same additionals etchings on B side’s runout, too !).

The mastering was originally made at Sheffield Matrix Labs (UK), as stated by the
reference ‘△ 19334’ (etched on the runouts). The lacquers were cut by Brian Gardner,
author of the [url=https://www.discogs.com/release/11955071-Depeche-Mode-Behind-The-Wheel-Route-66-Megamix/image/SW1hZ2U6MzQxMDc2ODk=]flower[/url] and the [url=https://www.discogs.com/release/11955071-Depeche-Mode-Behind-The-Wheel-Route-66-Megamix/image/SW1hZ2U6MzQxMDc2OTA=]two seagulls[/url] motifs (etched on the runouts, too !).

The release was originally issued in a semi-glossy cardboard sleeve with a printed spine
(including the cat# 9 20858-0), and, a clear square antistatic innersleeve without holes,
exactly the same one as the test pressing version (as stated by [url=https://www.discogs.com/Depeche-Mode-Behind-The-Wheel/release/6922792#images/18389241]this picture[/url]).
