Recorded December 10 & 12, 1959. All material previously unissued although other takes of a few tunes appeared on Delmark 404 (All The Gin Is Gone).

According to interview (6/27/19) with producer Bob Koester, this 1959 session was recorded in mono and thus the master for the 1972 release of this material was also in mono. The stereo mix of LP released in US and U.K.) were artificially created in the studio. The mono release is indicated by catalogue number 427 and not DL-427 listed on the stereo version.
