This was Robert Palmer's first solo album. In contrast to his later slick pop, this has a rootsy funk-jam feel. Most of the musicians on this record seem to be uncredited on any version. They include members of Stuff (New York), The Meters (New Orleans) and Little Feat. On various tracks the players include:
