This CD is one of 4 special releases that were exclusive to the USA, sold at 4 different retailers: Best Buy, Target, Circuit City, and various smaller independent record stores.
This is the Target edition, with track CD-17 being an unlisted bonus track exclusive to this release, not found anywhere else.
This outer cardboard case of this release has a small yellow sticker with the new UPC barcode, but the catalog number is the same as on all other versions.
Track CD-17 is not listed on the back sleeve, outer case, or disc. It is mislabeled as being the "1982 Club Remix" on the round yellow sticker; however its proper title is the Four On The Floor Remix, made by Georgie Porgie.

• CD-11 to CD-15 are previously unreleased tracks produced exclusively for this 25th Anniversary Edition.
• CD-16 is an unreleased track from the original Thriller sessions.
• Original recordings began at 12 noon on Wednesday 14th April 1982 at Westlake Studio in Los Angeles with Michael Jackson & Paul McCartney recording The Girl Is Mine. Recordings concluded with the last day of mixing on Monday 8th November 1982.
