A 1988 BBC Transcription Service Beatles 2 LP set titled “Profile Sergeant Pepper: A Splendid Time Was Guaranteed For All”.
A 3 sided tribute to the Beatles most celebrated album. In addition to the medley of tracks from ‘Sgt. Peppers’ this set includes interviews with Paul McCartney, John Lennon, and Ringo Starr, as well as extensive commentary by non-group members involved in the making of the album, including producer George Martin, engineer Geoff Emerick, album cover artist Peter Blake, and BBC DJ Kenny Everett. Also included is McCartney’s BBC interview and introduction of ‘Sgt. Peppers’ when it was played for the first time, his comments on creating the ground-breaking album cover, and Lennon talking about the follow up ‘White Album.’ BBC ultra high quality discs, made in extremely limited quantities in 1988 and sent to UK and Commonwealth radio stations. The program takes up 3 sides of the two discs. The fourth side featuring a deluxe BBC stamped design. Originally distributed with a transcription sheet & original BBC sleeves.
