Promo Italian issue with the temporary sleeve featuring artist name, album title, RCA logo and cat. number info in black on white.

The back cover features "hand-written" copy stating: "Per anticipare al massimo l'uscita, il nuovo Long-Playing di David Bowie viene momentaneamente fornito in busta provvisoria.- In aprile sarà disponibile la busta definitiva che potrete richiedere gratuitamente ai vostri fornitori.-". ("To anticipate the release as much as possible, David Bowie's new Long-Playing is temporarily supplied in a provisional envelope. The final envelope will be available in April that you can request free of charge from your suppliers.").

In order to speed up release the album was issued in this temporary sleeve which could later be traded in for the final artwork.
