Item Description
10 x Vinyl, , Multi-coloredLP Compilation
Issued in a large laminated slip-case cover with a color photo on front, black/white track list on the rear cover.
The 10 multicolored discs are stored in two separate textured boxes, each containing 5 discs
Recording channels vary from good mono to excellent stereo throughout all of the discs.
All discs have the same two pressing rings. Inner @ 32mm & outer @ 70mm.
These records were manufactured in the U.S., but I can not tell definitively who pressed them.
There were no pamphlets, pictures, hype stickers, post cards, liner notes, posters or even a
business card that came with this. It wasn't even shrink wrapped. All it came with was the
slip-case (with track listing on the back), two thin, textured boxes with a top lid, ten colored
discs in ten paper sleeves and a "peel-away" sticker on the front with a price on it.
Record #1 through Record #10 'are' determined by the track list on the rear cover of the slip-case.
Even though the record matrices are not in sequential order, the cover list is 'there' for a reason.
So, starting @ the top of the list is Record #1, track A1... period!
Record #1: Green vinyl. Matrices are RSR-244-A & RSR-244-B (tracks A1 through B6).
Record #2: Purple vinyl. Matrices are RSR-244-C & RSR-244-D (tracks C1 through D5).
Record #3: Green vinyl. Matrices are RSR-225-A & RSR-225-B (tracks E1 through F2).
Record #4: Red vinyl. Matrices are RSR-225-C & RSR-225-D (tracks G1 through H7).
Record #5: Red vinyl. Matrices are RSR-236-A & RSR-236-B (tracks I1 through J2).
Record #6: Orange vinyl. Matrices are RSR-236-C & RSR-236-D (tracks K1 through L5).
Record #7: Blue vinyl. Matrices are RSR-215-C & RSR-215-D (tracks M1 through N5).
Record #8: Blue vinyl. Matrices are RSR-215-A & RSR-215-B (track O1 throughP3).
Record #9: Orange vinyl. Matrices are RSR-242-A & RSR-242-B (tracks Q1 through R7).
Record #10: Yellow vinyl. Matrices are RSR-242-C & RSR-242-D (tracksS1 through T7).
Note: Track M7 ('Money') is continued on the B Side as track N1 and it constitutes as one track.
With that said, there are 78 tracks listed on the rear cover of the slip-case,
but there are a total of 93 tracks in this compilation. Also, labels for records #7 & #8 are
reversed. Images (above) reflect this. Sides C & D come before Sides A & B according
to the track list on rear cover of the slip-case.
Do not be fooled by some tracks. "Murderistic Woman" sounds like "Careful With That Axe Eugene".
"The Massed Gadgets Of Hercules" sounds like "A Saucerful Of Secrets" (even though the song 'A
Saucerful Of Secrets' is not in this compilation). Pink Floyd had recorded some of these tracks
with subtle differences in mind and labeled them as completely different songs.
Every song listed in the track list on the rear cover of the slip-case is in this compilation. Some
tracks are repeated. For instance: track C3 "The Embryo" is repeated as track E1. Track D4
"Careful With That Axe Eugene" is repeated as tracks F1 & I3. Keep in mind, it is a 'different'
version of the same song. Same goes for tracks K1 through N5, which are the entire "Dark Side Of The
Moon" album... twice! Two of these 10 records are complete, yet different versions of that same album.
Sources used for this compilation were other 'RSR' (Rock Solid Records) releases. The pressings in
this compilation were manufactured using those original 'RSR' plates that were used to make:
1) "67-69" (Records #1 & #2). Recorded @ "BBC Maida Vale Studios" on December 20, 1967,
"BBC 210 Piccadilly Studios" on June 25, 1968 & "BBC Paris Cinema" on May 12, 1969, all in
London, England (tracks A1 through D5).
2) "Violence In Birmingham" (Records #3 & #4). Recorded @ Town Hall in Birmingham, England on
February 11, 1970 (tracks E1 through H7).
3) "The Great Gig In The Sky" (Records #5 & #6). Recorded @ Earls Court Arena in London,
England on May 18, 1973 (tracks I1 through L5).
4) "Ivor Wynne" (Records #7 & #8). Recorded @ Ivor Wynne Stadium in Hamilton, Ontario Canada
on June 28, 1975 (tracks M1 through P3).
5) "Wallive" (Records #9 & #10). Recorded @ Westfalenhalle in Dortmund, Germany on
February 20, 1981 (tracks Q1 through T7).
Note: Track J1 is misspelled as "Echos" in the track list on rear cover of the slip-case.
What is 'not' listed in the track list on rear cover of the slip-case is track R3 "What Shall We Do Now?"
That track is recorded in this compilation. It's on Record #9 (B Side) as R3.
It's just not in the list on the back cover.
Worldwide there are only 500 copies of this multi-colored box-set.
When it comes to the multi-colored discs, not all box-sets are the same. In particular,
this release has 2 blue, 2 red, 2 green, 2 orange, 1 yellow & 1 purple colored discs.
Other box-sets have an array of color combinations in them.
Manufactured by "Rock Solid Records/International" 1987.
