LP has blue "Joshua Tree" labels and is housed in a stiff card gatefold cover with plain black inner sleeve.
Includes double-sided (single sheet) insert with song lyrics and separate Island Records '20th Anniversary' insert in English and Chinese language.

The left side of the cover when gatefold is spread out, is closed so no record could slide in. The right side is open for the reocrds to slide in.
Record is in black generic inner sleeve (polylined on inside)

The back cover of this version has only eight (8) lines of "Thanks to:" text and does NOT have the "Special thanks..." text, nor does it have the asterisk after the song "Red Hill Mining Town" on the back cover. The lack of this text and the lack of the asterisk after the song indicate that this is the earliest version of this release in a gatefold sleeve.
