NOTE: This is not to be confused with the [url=http://www.discogs.com/release/2551836]1995 Reissue of Sgt Pepper[/url]. This version has a purple label, Capitol Logo at top, but no Parlophone or Apple Records on the label.

Has the same catalog # as the CD (#46442), the first time this album was issued a new catalog # in the US.

"AL-SP" in runouts indicates that the lacquer was cut at Allied (AR) and pressed at Specialty (SP). Side B has "E A S T" (or part of it) embossed around the spindle hole, also indicating Specialty, as seen in the photo. The Allied lacquer was plated at Sheffield Lab (SLM) also using parts originally made by Capitol (MASTERED BY CAPITOL).

"Wally" cutting engineer scribe on Side A only.

Also, amongst the new matrix markings as compared to previous pressings, you can still see the old matrix stamp SMAS-1/2-2653, and other etchings scratched out.

-Back cover now has a barcode in the upper right, representing the new catalog #.
-Back cover now shows the more modern EMI logo next to the Capitol oval logo, and retains the "All Rights for the United States..." and "NEMS" credits.
-New credits on the lower right corner include:
