Item Description

Vinyl,
LP Album Reissue

Although it is categorised as "reissue", because it comes in a series of reissues of all Bee Gees catalogue, this is the first time this album is issued in Brazil. Neither "Bee Gees' 1st" nor "Horizontal" were released in their original form in Brazil, only being released in 1968 a compilation album entitled "Massachusets" [sic] with songs from both albums.

Time for track B1 is incorrectly stated as "3:09". The correct is "2:09".

Back cover text:
"Robin, Maurice and Barry Gibb arrived unheralded in Britain at the beginning of this year bringing with them a bag full of songs, a wealth of musical talent, and 11 years experience working together as the Bee Gees. On 24 February Polydor Records released their first U.K. single and on this day too, Robert Stigwood, Joint Managing Director of Nems Enterprises, became their personal manager when he signed The Bee Gees to a five-year management contract. Not yet out of their teens The Bee Gees have been working together since they were 'knee high to a grasshopper', their first performance being in 1956 to an audience of youngster their own age at the local Gaumont Theatre in their home town of Manchester. In 1958 the Gibb family emigrated to Australia and within a few months of their arrival the trio made its first broadcast. By 1960, they had their own 30 minute TV series screened from Brisbane. In January 1963 when Barry was 14 and the Gibb twins were still only 12 Festival Records signed them to a contract and produced a string of hit singles - all Bee Gees compositions. The Bee Gees now number five by the addition of two Australian friends, Colin Petersen and Vince Melouney (19 and 21 years old respectively) who met up with the Gibb brothers again in London. "Spicks and Specks" and "New York Mining Disaster 1941" have been round-the-world best sellers and the Bee Gees have emerged on our musical scene as a versatile self-contained fivesome as much admired for their vocal and instrumental work as for their unique built-in flair for writing and arranging. This their first album, recorded under the auspices of Robert Stigwood, and their Australian Producer Ossie Byrne, contais 14 tracks - all original compositions by Maurice and Robin (both 17) and Barry Gibb (19).
The sole direction - Robert Stigwood - Nems Enterprises Ltd. London"
