Australian mono pressings were pressed from UK supplied "mothers", unlike its stereo counterpart (pressed from US parts) and can generally be found in sleeves numbered from the 30000s and up (copies have been found in sleeves numbered in the 80000s). Therefore, they can be found in sleeve numbers with the A prefix and the No. prefix.

Generally, sleeves containing mono pressings had a large black and white 'MONO' sticker placed over the solitary printed word 'stereo' on the top right of the rear sleeve (the 'MONO' sticker was in the same style as the b&w 'STEREO' stickers that were attached to dual-format sleeves of the other Beatles albums).

Publishing stamps are featured on all four labels. Labels use a different font (this font is identical to that used on the original Yellow Submarine stereo pressings) to the stereo counterpart.

Sides 2 and 4 can feature solid dots to the left of the manufacturing credit (as pictured) or not. Given this is a double album, there are four possible combinations:
1. No Dots at all.
2.Dots on side 2 and 4.
3. Dot on side two only.
4. Dot on side four only.

Top loading laminated gatefold sleeve, black paper inner sleeves. Grey/black print on inside cover. Some later issues have green printing.
Includes four glossy photo inserts and lyrics and the censored poster insert.
