This is the original 1986 re-pressing in the US Capitol issued May 1986. It's very similar to the later 1987 pressing [r2153394] but lacks the "DIGITALLY RE-MASTERED" banner across the top front cover, and noticeably different matrix run-out data. Otherwise, label and packaging are identical. There is no barcode.

Pressed with the newer, 80s rainbow label. Despite the label stating "Digitally Remastered" in the credits at the bottom of the label, the run-out data does not suggest this, or at least, as on the 1987 pressing, lacks the "RE" portion of the matrix. (So there is a doubt whether this is truly a re-master or not)

-Comes in the custom sleeve that was issued with the original, but is no longer die-cut.
-The 24" x 36" poster of John at his white piano is still included, but neither of the postcards are included.
-Capitol chose to keep the original catalog # for this.

This was pressed by Specialty Records Corporation, as identified by large S with smaller R and C inside it, seen in the run-outs. Capitol had stopped pressing their own vinyl by this time.

Mastered at Capitol by Eddy Schreyer, as identified by the "swoosh" signature in the run-outs.

For date reference, Capitol issued a publicity release announcing the re-release re-master, which is dated "5-86" (see photo) and the pressing used for this entry was purchased new May 23, 1986.
