This is an original first issue 1968 rare UK mono vinyl LP for Deep Purple s UK debut Album Release, Shades Of Deep Purple .
Originally released July 1968.
This album is considered to be a true collectible rarity especially in mono format.
The LP is on the traditional Black Yellow Parlophone Label, with The Gramophone Co Ltd label rim, with P Date 1968 with Sold in UK and Made in Gt.
Britain label text.
Both Parlophone record labels are in beautiful Near Mint condition, both record labels are undamaged, all printed text is unfaded, all that is visible are a few play signs to the centre of the record labels.
The official machine stamped Matrix, Side 1, is XEX 689-1.
The official machine stamped Matrix, Side 2, is XEX 690-1.
Side 1 stampers markings: 1R, Side 2 stampers: 1R.
With the exception of what is described below, both sides of the vinyl disc are in Excellent Plus condition, the heavyweight vinyl disc is beautiful and shows only a couple of insignificant surface hairlines, there are no deep scratches or scuffs or any other marks on the vinyl surfaces.
PLEASE NOTE With the exception of a tiny scratch on the track Hey Joe see scan below which produces approximately 12 light clicks, the play quality and sound quality of this LP are beautiful on both sides.
Careful listening reveals no background crackle, no other clicks no pops, no distortion at high volume, and silent between tracks.
The album features a slower version the 1965 Lennon McCartney Song, Help.
The LP comes in it s original EMI Sepia Advertising inner bag, and is housed in its original first issue Garrod Lofhouse Patents Pending, mono front laminated sleeve with three flipbacks to the reverse.
The front panel of the original mono Picture Sleeve is in Excellent Plus condition, super glossy with just the mildest of LP storage signs and a few manufacturing laminate pinches.
The reverse panel of this sleeve is also in Excellent Plus condition, clean and bright with no ringwear.
There are no splits to any of the edges, and just a couple of tiny corner bumps.
A really impressive example, of this great album, with great music and sound quality.
