Item Description
This amazing record has had one owner since new and is part of an amazing collection that I have been lowly selling on behalf of the owner, other records in the cache included The Trees, The Alan Skidmore Quartet, King Crimson, Pink Floyd among many, many more, all of these records are UK first pressings and are in or around near mint condition, this record comes from that collection.
It has been my privilege to just be able to see these records and after a few have sold with 100 feedback it has been decided to put the rest on the market, so please add me as a favourite seller as they will be listed over time.
This is without doubt one of the best vinyl copies that has ever come up for sale, please check the close up pictures for evidence of NO spindle wear to the labels and please note the gloss and sheen on the vinyl, the majority of this collection were played once whilst being transferred to reel to reel, hence the amazing condition they are in now.
I have played through side two to check for the pressing fault on Money and it is NOT present, there are no skips or pops and the record plays through beautifully with only the slightest noise from static, I must state I have not cleaned this record, I do not want to handle it at all and I want the winner to feel that static as they draw it from the sleeve, just like it was bought new from a shop today.
Right onto the details: Pink Floyd - Dark side of the moon - UK First pressing Matrix / Runout Stamped Side A : SHVL 804 A-2Matrix / Runout Stamped Side B : SHVL 804 B-2 The record is in amazing condition and apart from the small amount of dust it has collected from storage and from me taking its sleeve there are NO noticeable marks present at all The vinyl has brilliant gloss and sheen and it is evident it has barely been handled since new.
The labels are immaculate see photos there is absolutely NO spindle wear, the crease you see on side one is actually a crease in the label which has happened in the factory during application, I have photographed these with a macro lense to get as close and detailed a picture as I can.
as you can see they are mint.
The inner again see pictures looks amazing, the wavy top of the inner has no wear or splits or tears as the record has only been removed a handful of times and with total care and attention every time.
It is the distinctive polythene lined die cut black semi matt paper with white printed text stating 2 patent numbers bottom left 112555/1072844 and MADE IN GREAT BRITAIN bottom right.
Just as it should be.
The sleeve has the usual and unavoidable rubs to the front and back cover and there is some wear to the top corners of the spine, I have photographed these also and the photos actually make it look worse than it is, but the wear is there however it is consummate with age and it does not detract from the impact of this iconic sleeve.
It is a gatefold sleeve, with one sleeve glued shut as should be the case with original and first pressings.
The posters are mint unhandled and unopened, the stickers have one small issue as they have slipped into the spine area of the sleeve and have remained there ever since, I asked the owner about this and he replied I didn t even know it had stickers Thats how little attention this record has had The creases are more noticeable on one of the stickers please see photos but as I said the real star of this is the vinyl.
The stickers are the type 2 stickers with the wavy lines and PERMANENT stamped on the back, I have done extensive research into the variations of these stickers and have found that there were several different backings included in the first pressings, not just the horizontal lined stickers.
For more information on pressing variants of this record please visit: Bearing in mind the creased sticker and as there is some wear to the cover I am offering this up for sale for 99p with no reserve bearing in mind a copy of this sold today for 2000 with noticeable marks I do not believe I am overselling the quality of this record and I hope my feedback speaks for itself as a seller of records, I am not a dealer I am a collector and have been for over 20 years.
I want my feedback to remain at 100 so please bid with confidence and please ask any questions you may have.
Shipping is available worldwide but please wait for invoice before paying, Thank you for looking and HAPPY BIDDING Good luck to all
