Item Description

THE LEFTOVERS-CIGARETTES AND ALCOHOL-7 -SUPER RARE AUS PUNK/KBD CLASSIC-EMI CUSTOM PRESS - PRS2624 What we have on sale today is 1 out of the 500 reportedly pressed of The Leftovers single which was funded by members of Just Urbain incredibly devoted fans of the band in 1979 through EMI Custom press services in Sydney, catalogue number PRS 2624 on the label .
As legend has it the band destroyed their own copies out of foolishness as a way to increase its rarity which worked , other stories state the band had left copies in a cab, another more plausible explanation was the majority of the pressing was eaten by a pack of wolves that came from the mountain range that borders Erskineville/St Peters in Sydney In all seriousness though this record is one of the holy grails of Australian Punk and it s rare due to the small numbers known to exist after most of the pressing was destroyed.
When it pops up for sale you know there s a good chance it wont pop up again too soon.
The single comes in the original generic sleeve, this is a non stamped version.
The labels are clean with no blemishes.
The record I would grade as a very strong VG if not better, the A-side single track is clean and loud.
The b-side has 2 visible but light scratch marks on the second track, plays through without any audio issues though.
