All records are visually graded under bright light.
Mint is only used for sealed records or records that we are certain have never been played.
NM or Near Mint is for the most part as
good as it gets! No marks and will play clean with no noise unless
inherent in the pressing.
EX or Excellent will have light surface marks and some light background noise in spots and/or a couple light clicks or ticks.
VG+ Overall an Excellent copy with light
surface marks, but with something that distracts, like a small scratch
that makes a few pops or a few light repetitive clicks.
VG Consistent background noise or a few pops. No skips or sticking. Still a playable copy.
VG- will have problems. Noise will dominate. May have quite a few pops and possibly a quick skip. Groove distortion possible.
G = Our lowest grade and is actually a poor record.
Cover grading -
Mint = Sealed
NM = near perfect, at most a minor corner impact.
EX+ = Overall near mint but with up to 3
minor flaws such as a minor corner impact, small amount of writing like a
name or date or less than 1/2 inch split or very slight shelf wear.
VG+ = May have one split up to 3 inches, light shelf wear, corner impact up to 1/2 inch or light shelf wear.
VG = Splits up to 3 inches or one split up to 5 inches, light to moderate shelf wear or ring wear.
VG- = Possible full length split on one seam, moderate shelf wear but still holding together plus other flaws.
G  = rough!
