THIS IS AN AUCTION FOR A VERY RARE COPY OF THE FIRST LP BY PINK FLOYD. THE LP IS AN EARLY PRESSING FROM 1967 . RELEASED IN THE UK ON COLUMBIA RECORDS IN STEREO CATALOGUE NUMBER SCX 6157 WITH THE VERY EARLY MOTHER STAMPERS OF 1H/1M.
THE EARLY E.J.DAY SLEEVE IS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION. THERE IS SOME SLIGHT STORAGE WEAR SEE PHOTO S AND SOME CREASING AND RING WEAR TO THE LAMINATE. THE SPINE LOOKS GREAT. OVERALL A NICE EXAMPLE FOR AN LP THAT IS 49YEARS OLD.
THE VINYL HAS RETAINED A GOOD SHINE AND LOOKS NICE . THERE ARE SOME SUPERFICIAL SCUFF MARKS TO SIDE 1 WHICH ARE CLEARLY VISIBLE BUT DO NOT AFFECT PLAYBACK ON MY SYSTEM. THERE ARE SOME VERY LIGHT SCRATCHES TO BOTH SIDES . OVERALL I WOULD GRADE IT VISUALLY AS VERY GOOD ON SIDE 1 AND VERY GOOD ON SIDE 2. THE VINYL HAS THE MATRIX NUMBERS OF YAX 3419-1 AND YAX 3420-1.
I HAVE LISTENED TO THE LP AT GREAT VOLUME . IT SITS NICE AND FLAT ON THE TURNTABLE AND PLAYS THROUGH WITHOUT ANY SKIPS OR JUMPS. I WOULD GRADE THE AUDIO AS OVERALL VERY GOOD . THERE IS SOME LIGHT BACKGROUND CRACKLE AND A COUPLE OF CLICKS BUT OVERALL IT WAS STILL A GOOD LISTEN BUT PLEASE BEAR IN MIND THAT THIS LP IS 49 YEARS OLD.
THE LABELS ARE IN VERY GOOD CONDITION. SIDE 2 HAS THE K T TAX CODE STAMPED OVER THE SPINDLE HOLE. THEY ARE FREE OF ANY WRITING.

Grading:- MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise it may even jump.
