Of all the rare debut LPs by Bowie, the UK pressings are the rarest .
That is until this baby was discovered.
This beautiful rare item has re-written the books, and proved beyond any doubt that all the experts are still learning.
Marshall Jarman known to all thousands of the most serious Bowie collectors is recognised as the worlds leading authority on David Bowie records and rightly so .
He used to be the chief BOWIE valuer for record collector and Goldmine USA.
He has worked for the BBC on their programme, A collectors lot, when they discovered a Space oddity single with a sleeve only 9 made for David s family members .
Also Marshall is the author of the fantastic book, DAVID BOWIE WORLD 7 RECORDS DISCOGRAPHY.
I recall the day I told him I had got this 67 Deram from New Zealand.
He said you haven t, such a thing does not exist .
Truth is he couldn t believe his ears...
When I showed it to him.
He also couldn t believe his eyes.

Oh, ignore RCs ridiculas valuation, this write up is years old but as we all know, Record Collector are quite nutty when it comes to their valuations....So to the real point of all this......

This great serendipitous discovery is rare beyond belief.
Ebay has a way of making really rare records seem quite common, simply because if your selling something, ebay is the best platform.
So with that in mind just ask yourself ....
when was the last time you saw one of these on eBay ? If your lucky eBay might manage to locate 1 copy every 15 years.
The reason for that is obvious....Nobody has this.
So make no mistake.
This is one of the rarest David Bowie records in existence.
And its condition is the stuff a true collectors dreams are made of.
If you click the pictures you will see I have placed it next to a UK Stereo stock issue sleeve.
I have done this simply to show contrast between the 2 items.
Note how the New Zealand front sleeve is much darker, the picture of Bowie and the typeset and background all darker.
Note the rear of the sleeve.
It differs hugely to the UK version chiefly because it is the Flip Back variety typical of the 60s and it also has the cropped shot of Bowie with the writing beneath.
LET ME BE CRYSTAL CLEAR.
THE UK STEREO IS NOT PART OF THIS AUCTION THIS AUTION IS FOR THE NEW ZEALAND COPY ONLY.
The flip back sleeve is close to mint as possible.
The front has the tiniest amount of ring ware only visible when you tilt the sleeve towards the light.
The back sleeve has a small stain about 2 inches from the top but its nothing, and doesn t spoil the items appearance.
the edges are in great condition .
The spine is firm and very strong, with no dents and totally uncrushed and all spinal writings are undamaged and crystal clear and can be read as clearly as the day this fine item was made.

The labels on both sides are in mint condition.
No unwanted writings like a pre owners name etc, and are bright and clean.
No spindle marks to be seen, indicating a total lack of play.
Double click the pictures and see that STEREO word above the Deram label, totally different to the rare UK version.
Look around the edge of the label you can read those magnificent words MADE IN NEW ZEALAND by His masters Voice NZ.
And there is this items intrinsic value.
THIS IS SERIOUSLY RARE.
The thick heavy 60s slab of vinyl is totally pristine.
Beautiful all the way with the highest lustre sheen that could bring tears to a collectors eyes.
When you tilt it toward the light it reflects like mirror.
Totally beautiful.
Under the brightest light I can not even see the slightest hairline or paper mark on the vinyl.
There is no evidence to indicate that this record has ever been played.
Totally magnificent all the way.
This beautiful piece belongs in a museum.
There is a reserve in place that to my mind does not reflect this items true rarity.
I think its for nothing, but who knows this items worth? There are no books, no experts, and no guidelines.
So here we are....Pushing boundaries all of us.
This is so rare...As long as you live you may never see another.
And in condition like this.
Forget it.
