Item Description

DAVID BOWIE THE RISE AND FALL OF ZIGGY STARDUST AND THE SPIDERS FROM MARS.
1972 JAPANESE ORIGINAL BLACK OBI RCA 6050 MATRIX NUMBER RCA 6050 HQ 111 FIRST PRESSING.
Did you ever wonder why is it from every artist from Abba to ZZ top.
Why is it that the UK releases of the Stones , Beatles , Led Zep , Bowie , Elvis any of them .
The UK releases are nearly always worth a huge amount more than any other country ? There are of course some exceptions like the Velvets USA release is valued higher than the UK release.
There is the Beatles USA LP release of Sargent Peppers where the record executives replaced the Beatles heads with the heads of the record company bosses worth 100,000 .
But Generally speaking its the UK pressings that are nearly always highest priced.
That is because as you are all aware.
There is no technology on Earth that moves faster than the arms race.
We spend more money devising more efficient ways to destroy each other than we do helping each other.
The arms race needs to be paid for.
So all the massive record companies selling millions or records daily imagine all the records sold by all the artists on any given large record company are now owned by the governments.
So Her majesty the Queen is the figurehead of the UK Polydor records who own the huge USA AM records.
Indeed there is a huge portrait of the Queen in the contract signing rooms, where all the stars sign their contracts.
just a small reminder of whom you will be working for .
So when the Sex Pistols were signed to AM records .
As soon as they Punked Up the Queen with that safety pin through the nose on the picture sleeve of the classic GOD SAVE THE QUEEN.
The Sex Pistols had to be fired.
Either them or whoever signed them was going to the tower My point being ENGLAND has ALWAYS made the best quality records on Earth, and up until the early 80 s, the UK was the envy of the record manufacturing industry the world over.
So with that in mind, isn t it a fact that it is actually PATRIOTIC to buy records As a kid I worked weekends filling skips for my mates dads building business plus the six week school holidays to earn money to buy records.
My dad hated me spending every penny on records ....All the time I was doing my bit unknowingly to support our troops where ever they were in the world .
Arn t records beautiful things...When you think about the artist, connecting with the young fan who idolises the artist.
Then unknowingly to both, much of the profit made is supporting our soldiers.
I LOVE RECORDS.
Makes me think maybe John Lennon and the Stones had it a bit wrong with Taxman and Exile on Main street .
Did you ever notice you never get David Bowie getting tied up in nonsence like that .
Typical , English eccentric gentleman with way too much style .
That is how important the record industry was in England And THAT IS WHY THEY ARE NOW, AND WILL BE THE WORKING CLASS ANTIQUES OF THE FUTURE THEY ARE DOWNRIGHT PATRIOTIC Isn t it sad we lead the world in this industry and we let it just slip through our fingers.
FOR WHAT ? cds downloads or whatever people do now....
I dont know what people do now to get their music, and I dont want to know.
There is only one other country that could ever hold a candle to the UK in terms of PRODUCT QUALITY, and how they manufactured their records.
Without a doubt .
It is JAPAN.
They are a very, VERY close second .
Beautifully produced .
Just like this MINT example of the VERY FIRST JAPAN pressing of David Bowie s MASTERPIECE from 1972 THE RISE AND FALL OF ZIGGY STARDUST AND THE SPIDERS FROM MARS.

Double click the shot with the Record , Obi and sleeve and inner lyric sleeve see the Cat number on then all 6050 .
This is your confirmation that all here are the BONA FIDE ORIGINALS.
ALL THE WAY The magnificent album jacket is made of thick card stock in a paste on sleeve.
Beautiful white labels with the silver typeset across a deep grove.
That is the mark of a well made record.
Thick heavy vinyl that glistens as the light hits it.
Look at the matrix , no sign this was ever handled .
A HIGH LUSTRE SHEEN THAT IS A COLLECTORS DREAM.
The Japanese always went that extra mile to compete with the UK by introducing the OBi s and other little extras like this gate fold inner lyric sheet with great shots of Bowie at the time of release.
Introducing the Obi was a stoke of Genius for Japan .
Because after the Black obis sold out .
They pressed second third and fouth pressings with White, Green, Red and Orange Obi s , on an on, the Obis changed.
So it was an ingenious way to get serious collectors to buy later pressings of the same LP collecting all the Obi s This is lovely.
And the first pressings are oh so rare EXCEPTIONALLY HARD TO FIND.
In this condition....Forget it.
