Grading a record is always very hard, as everyone got their own grading system.
I always check my records under a critical light so there won t be any surprises many sellers don t do this , so I will see even the lightest hairlines and sleeve removal lines which you won t see in normal room light.
I m a collector myself, so I do my best to be honest with my grading.
Please see my grading system in the bottom of this page.
Thanks for reading everything and happy bidding What I have for sale here is: Artist: David Bowie Title: The Man Who Sold the World Label: Mercury Cat : 6338 041 Made in: England 1971 : The Man Who Sold The World by David Bowie was released in 1971 by Mercury Records.
100 genuine UK 1st press Dress Cover LP with textured sleeve.
Matrices: 6338041 1Y//1 6338041 2Y//1.
Complete with its original poly-lined inner-sleeve dated 0571 Condition: VG/VG Record/Cover Record shows many thin sleeve removal lines and hairlines that can be seen under my unforgiving halogen lamp.
There are NO scratches or any other nasty marks.
I have played the whole album and there is background noise to be heard in quieter parts / between tracks.
Plays loud and clear when the music starts.
NO jumps or other nasty noises.
I m sure that professional cleaning okki nokki for example would improve the sound quality.
Cover has damage on the front top corner see the pic and due to the nature of this very soft textured sleeve, bottom and top edges shows a lot of wear as most do .
Also there are small splits at the opening edges where you put the record in, top and bottom edges have splits .
Spine has some wear on the top edge, but all print is present and is still clear and fully legible.
There is also name written on the back of the cover...

Grading Record : This is my grading system.
I m very strict when grading a record.
Mostly my VG grade is most sellers EX.
Also, I don t use VG or EX like some sellers do NM NEAR MINT This is highest grade that I will assign to opened, handled records.
The vinyl is virtually flawless, bright and shiny.
A very minor, barely visible scuff or two may be permitted, but no scratches.
The disc should play with no audible noise.
The label is bright, clean and unmarked.
EX EXCELLENT Disc plays near perfectly, but may have minor paper scuffs that do not interfere with the sound quality.
There can possibly be a few hairline scratches but nothing that is obvious or affects play.
Vinyl is bright and shiny label is clean and unmarked.
VG VERY GOOD Some visible surface wear, very minor scratches and scuffs, but minimal impact on the sound quality.
Might have a light click or two, but NO skips or jumps.
Vinyl will still have good luster labels may have minor imperfections but otherwise clean.
Grading Cover : NM NEAR MINT Very minor signs of wear or cover impressions.
Artwork is as close to perfection as possible.
EX EXCELLENT Minor disc impression or slight corner creases, no wrinkles, puckers, seam splits or writing on the cover.
Artwork is clean and unworn and there is no ink wear.
VG VERY GOOD Cover is clean but may have minor writing or marks and may show slight wear.
There may be just the start of ring wear, where the disc has created a raised area on the cover that resulted in the ink wearing off the paper.
There may be slight discoloration or staining, minor seam wear, but no splits or tears.
Corners may have small creases or fraying.
