Item Description

David Bowie - Memory Of A Free Festival - Part 1 Part 2 1970 UK Mercury Records DEMO - NOT FOR SALE - Vinyl 45 - Catalogue Number, 6052 026.
I am starting the auction at the price I paid for the record back in 1991 25 years ago .
No lower offers please, if it doesn t sell at this price I will keep it 100 Original, beautiful stunning example of this 1970 Mercury Records Demo This is a super rare early UK DEMO 45 for David Bowie s 1970 second Mercury Records single.
Memory Of A Free Festival Part 1 2 were written by David Bowie.
This is the second of only three singles from David Bowie to be released on the Mercury Record Label.
The vinyl in Excellent Condition with bright and undamaged record labels to both sides.
I know how important condition is when grading records, however condition grading and descriptions of such is a very subjective matter.
So I will describe this record in as much detail as possible.
Visul Grade: When held in direct daylight flat or tilted and rotated in a circular motion into the day light to my eye, no marks are visible what so ever.
When Held under a 50 watt GU10 halogen bulb at a distance of 3 feet, the slightest of sleeve removal marks can be seen under extremely close scrutiny.
Play Grade: There is a tiny amount of surface noise on the run in and run out, synonymous with most 60s and early 70s vinyl records.
i.e.
its not deadly silent like a digital recording .
I m being very critical here, my system is pre-amplified and dual amp d too, using a Ortofon Cartridge.
It has always been super sensitive to surface noise of any kind.
in fact its rare I can get a record with a truly silent run in .
The fidelity of the record is loud strong with clear sharp vocals at all volumes.
no skips, pops, jumps or distortion of any kind.
just that little bit of surface noise on the run in and run out .
The stamped matrix numbers read - A side - 6052026 1F 2 420 - B side 6052026 2F 2 420 The record in it s correct original red and white swirl Mercury Records company sleeve which is in undamaged condition, there are no tears or seam splits just light creases.
